Set the bearer default deliberately
A bearer cheque pays whoever presents it. For most business payments that is not what you want — a lost bearer cheque is a lost payment with no name attached to it.
Set the Bearer Text default on the cheque book once, according to how your business issues cheques, rather than deciding on each one. If you issue to named suppliers, suppress or strike the bearer wording and rely on the crossing instead.
Two things to check on the first print
- The date boxes. Boxed digits need the left margin right or characters straddle the divisions.
- The bearer line. Confirm it prints where you expect, or does not print at all if you have suppressed it.
