Quick Cheque (quick-cheque.com) is a free cheque printing product covering banks across the UAE, India and several other markets. If free covers your requirement, that is a strong starting position and we would not argue with it.
The headline comparison
| ChequeMaster | Quick Cheque | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $20 / ₹950 one-time; limited free edition | Free |
| Bank coverage | 105 layouts, 19 countries | Advertises 60+ UAE and 90+ Indian templates |
| Markets | India, Gulf, South-East Asia and others | Multiple, incl. UAE, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Canada |
On raw bank-template count they advertise more than we carry, particularly for UAE and Indian banks. If your specific bank matters most and it is on their list and not ours, that settles it — and you can build a missing layout from a scan in either case.
What to establish about any free tool
Not criticisms — questions worth having answers to before a business process depends on something:
- Where is the data stored? Cheque records are payment records. Ask where they live and who can reach them.
- What is the commercial model? Free products are sustained somehow. Knowing how tells you what might change.
- What happens if it stops? If your cheque history exists only inside a free tool, its continuity is your continuity.
- What support exists when a cheque prints wrong the afternoon payroll is due?
ChequeMaster's answers: data stays on your own PC and never reaches us; the model is a one-time licence fee; if we disappeared the installed software keeps working and your local database is still yours; support is email, WhatsApp and chat, included for six months.
Where we would expect to be stronger
- Record-keeping and reports. Cheque statuses, searchable history, Excel export for reconciliation — see reports and advanced search.
- Vouchers with prepared/approved/received signature blocks for an audit trail.
- Three-decimal currencies for KWD, BHD and OMR.
- Paid support with a defined channel and a 7-day money-back guarantee.
Where free wins
If you print a handful of cheques, do not need reports, and do not need an audit trail, paying for software to do what a free tool already does is not a good use of money. We would rather say so than pretend every business needs a licence.
A reasonable way to decide
Try both. Install our free edition, print a test cheque on plain paper, and do the same with theirs. You will learn two things that no comparison can tell you: whether your bank's layout is covered accurately, and how your printer handles the paper.
Then the question is only whether you need the records — and if you cannot currently answer "did we pay them, and has it cleared", you probably do.
