ICICI Bank cheques are 202 x 93 mm with boxed date digits — the CTS-2010 standard that every Indian bank follows. There is no ICICI-specific format to configure.
That is genuinely good news if you are comparing cheque printing software: any package that handles one Indian bank correctly handles all of them, so the question to ask is not "does it support ICICI" but "does it get the boxed date alignment right and does it write amounts in lakh".
Configuring the cheque book
- Settings: amount in words lakh, decimals 2, date format DD/MM/YYYY.
- Add a bank account under ICICI Bank.
- Create a cheque book with the ICICI layout and the number range from the physical book.
- Test-print on plain A4 and compare against a real leaf.
One layout, many books
The layout describes the cheque design, so you select it once per cheque book and reuse it indefinitely. A business running an ICICI current account and an ICICI OD account creates two bank accounts and as many cheque books as it has physical books — all pointing at the same ICICI layout.
What changes per book is the number range, and that has to match the paper exactly. If the range is wrong, cheques get recorded against numbers that do not exist on the leaves, and your reports quietly stop matching reality.
What to check on the first print
- Date boxes — digits centred, not on the divisions. Fix with the left margin.
- MICR band — nothing printed over the strip along the bottom edge.
- Amount in words — reads in lakh, and wraps onto the second line for large figures rather than running off the edge.
